If you’re planning a trip to Valencia, make sure to set aside some time for the Museum of Fine Arts (Museo de Bellas Artes). You’ll recognize it by the large blue dome next to Turia Park – it already stands out from the outside, but what’s inside is even more impressive.
As soon as you enter, look up: the ceiling is painted like a blue sky with stars and has an open center. Right at the entrance, you’ll realize this is a place that makes a lasting impression.
The museum houses works by some of Spain’s and Europe’s most renowned artists – including Sorolla, El Greco, Ribera, Zurbarán, as well as Valencian masters such as Ignacio Pinazo and Benlliure. The collection spans from the Middle Ages all the way to the 20th century, making it a perfect way to explore the evolution of art in Spain.
And here’s the best part – admission is free. So there’s really no excuse to skip this gem if you’re in Valencia.
Besides the art collections, I was also impressed by the beautiful garden inside the museum complex. It’s a quiet green corner, full of plants with a small fountain in the center – a perfect place to take a break after exploring the galleries.

There’s also a blue-colored building complex within the museum grounds that’s incredibly photogenic. Of course, I couldn’t resist taking a picture there myself – the perfect little souvenir from my visit.
I truly hope you’ll enjoy this beauty just as much as I did. Have you ever visited this wonderful museum? I’d love to hear your impressions in the comments!
